10/31

Our very haunted and spooky TND this week will be at the Outback Steakhouse. This is Dan Ling's choice, and I agree, the only thing scarier than British people are British sounding ones from the southern hemisphere, as well as mammals with pounches.

See you down under.

Baja Grillz Yo

First of all it needs to be said that i cannot get Dave's German interpretation of "Baja" out of my head. All day long it made me laugh...even at unacceptable times i.e. as i spoke to an indian woman at work b/c then i started imagining her saying in her indian accent trying to be german "Baja". I hope you all take a few seconds to imagine that as well and bring a few seconds of joy to each of your unimpressive lives. Cause lets face it...we are unimpressive...this is what we have...it's like our own little social club. If we can somehow get all you non-italians out (cough cough you know who you are) maybe we can all sit around on patio furnature drinking espresso and eating biscotti, complaining about who just moved in next door in true italian fashion. I think on my next pick that is what we will do. I'll volunteer my house...i have a lot of mirrors like a true ginny...we should all dress up in typical guido fashion. I'll wear my velour suit and high heals...all my gold...it will be awesome. I expect you boys to grease your hair.

That being said i want to thank all of you fine young men for waiting for me to eat. I know it's hard for each of you to do but i was aware that the BaJa had chips and salsa to hold you fellows over until i arrived. The evening was a success in my opinion. and my opinion counts a lot as the only offical TND female member. Which is great for me cause i get to leave like 45% tips to waitresses cause they have boobs....trust me friends...give me that money...i also have boobs and with enough drinks in me you will have a better chance of seeing my hoohaas than any of those servers you tip so generously.

Just so you all know this was my first time posting on blog in my entire life. It was a passionate experience. Thank you.

Also, thank you sang for keeping me company on the end.

Ruby Tuesdays...a meal made for TND

The answer is yes it is. Personally I delved into the salad bar and it was very enjoyable. After a long bout of waiting and anticipation my burger and its extra BBQ sauce was in a word very very good. OK well the owner of the company just walked into the studio as I was typing this post so I am going to have to cut this short.

P.S. please view a short history of the mouse courtesy of wikipedia.

Curiousity

I for one am excited for tonight's Ruby Tuesday adventure. I am curious about these delicious burgers from a larger chain restaurant. Can it be true?! I also enjoy the fact that the word "Tuesday" is in this restaurant's name, making it ultimately a perfect choice for the beloved Tuesday Night Dinner. I say we all glorify and hail LORD Tuesday for providing us consistantly with full stomachs.

Last week's Cheese Dream at the Good Steer did what it was supposed: filled me up and met my quota for cheese intake for the next week. That week is over now my friends and I dare now say "extra cheese please".

Us contributors should be reporting on our meals that we eat. I would like our audience, if any, to be able to make educated menu decisions when they frequent these now holy restaurants. I know it is hard because we are barely able to sit up and breathe after such large meals, but we should try.

May this Tuesday be a Ruby in the restaurant jewel box,
Fra David

Tuesday's Pick

Ok, I've made my pick. I thought long and hard while sitting in traffic on the dream of a 2 lane highway called the "Hutch", for short. Now, some of you may scoff at the pick and to you I say let's just calm it down.

Ruby Tuesday's

Thats right, that chain resturant in the mall with the salad bar no one ever gets. I make this pick because they have some outstanding hamburgers. I shit you not, outstanding. I was brought there by Nina one afternoon cuz it was close and had a fabulously large bacon cheese guy for like $9. It wasn't just large however, it came with tastey fries and the meat was oh so tender. It was a treat and a surprise. So, let us dine.

P.S. I'm hoping someone picks a fancy italian resturant soon, for the sheer comedic value.

Hi

Hey Guys...So this is a blog ey.

Sunday, October 01, 2006

The history of Tuesday Night Dinner. The first recorded such history was to celebrate my (David) new job at Northport-East Northport Union Free School District. For this a band of 4 Italians set out to The Good Steer on Middle Country Road. These four were Tony, Sang, Agunzo along with myself, and the males of the group were determined to ingest the legend known only as "The Cheese Dream".

From there the next such celebration would be for Tony for his job at American Portfolios. This faithful night was that of September 19th 2006, there a star was born. This trip was to Famous Dave's barbecue. The convey this time consisted of Tony, Josh, Sang, Keith, Tim and myself. It was hence decided that from now on every Tuesday a group will convene at a restaurant and such a gathering of minds will be known as Tuesday Night Dinner. This being the first official one.

It was decided that Tuesday night is the best day for people to gather, eat, laugh, cry, and wash off barbecue stains in the bathroom together. For Tuesday, though not the middle of the week, is the best day to help break up the post-college week and alleviate the concerns of the burden of real life.

The next official one would be at John Harvard's near the Smithhaven Mall (September 26th, 2006). The beer sampler was had by many. Myself- a school teacher, Tony- an IT technician, Keith- a pilot, Josh- unemployed business student, Tim- a server, and Dan Ling- but I forget what he does.

The rules of Tuesday Night Dinner are easy, clear and delicious. Every week someone new is chosen to decide the location of the upcoming Tuesday Night Dinner. As long as the restaurant serves meat it is an acceptable venue for this meeting of minds and stomachs.

Until next the next meal, hungrily yours,
-Dave, one of many "Founding Fathers"
